Privacy

CompareHypervisors is a set of reference pages: six product-for-product comparisons, a home page that searches them, and this notice and the methodology beside them. It has no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and no adverts, so there is very little to collect — and you can switch off what little there is.

Analytics, with an opt-out

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which parts of the map comparisons people actually use, which is what tells me what to build next. It runs by default. If you choose “Opt out of analytics” on the bar at the bottom of the page, or use the button below, measurement stops straight away, the analytics cookies are removed, and nothing further is sent to Google from this browser.

While it is on, Google Analytics records the page you viewed, the site or search that sent you, an approximate country and region derived from your IP address (Google discards the address itself and does not log it), and general device and browser details. It writes a first-party cookie so a second page view in the same session is not counted as a second visitor. Advertising features, remarketing, Google Signals and data sharing with other Google products are all off.

Change your choice at any time. This is stored in this browser only.

What stays in your browser

Two small values are kept in this browser’s local storage and are never sent anywhere: your light or dark theme preference, and your analytics choice. Clearing your browser data removes both. The search box on the home page and the filters on each comparison run entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Domains

The site lives at comparehypervisors.io. comparehy.io is a short alias that redirects there — nothing is served from it, and it sets nothing of its own in your browser.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU or another region with similar law, you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be deleted, and opt out at any time — the button above does the last of those immediately. For the first two, write to privacy@comparehypervisors.io.
